Biography

After completing a Foundation Course at Falmouth School of Art and Design, Mike Truelove went on to study at Plymouth University gaining a 2:1 BA Honours Degree in Photographic Design.

His work at College was mainly medium format Black & White imagery, conceptual and creative, inspired by the environment and the landscape of his native Cornwall. Here Mike also gained a passion for experimenting with various techniques and processes in the darkroom. This work continued after college and Mike now exhibits this part of his work in Galleries around the country.

You may have also noticed Mike has a passion for snowboarding and skiing and this has taken him all over the world with his cameras becoming the method of funding his extensive travels. Magazine galleries and personally written articles provide the main body of his work with commissions from clothing companies, image agencies, calendar and postcard companies making up the remainder. After many exhilarating and successful years he is now regarded as one of the finest photographers within the alpine community.

Foremost Mike regards himself as a Photographer, not of anything specific but simply of subject matter that has come to visually inspire and stimulate him on his journey through Life.
